Most Important Ranking Factors for Google Places Local Search Marketing

By Sean P Fullerton

Expert Author Sean P Fullerton

Well the answer is simple (and obvious)...Google!

There are however many factors that we know about which help influence Google's decision...

Places page 100% complete:

This may seem a pretty obvious factor and it is, but it is one that we all too often see over-looked. Each area of your Google Places page should be completed in full to provide the user with as much information as possible. This helps the CTR (click through rate) and also shows Google that you have put a bit of effort into it.

Take the time to get ten professional pictures of your business premises or staff (Google will do this for you if you live in the UK!) and if you don't have any videos you can use Animoto or similar online tools to quickly create a few short vids.

Keywords in Title/Description:

Where possible include your targeted keywords in the title (only if it's your real business name) and in the description (careful not to over use keywords or be spammy). Also take care to choose business categories that are both best associated with your business and your chosen targeted keywords.

Photos and Videos Geotagged:

Upload your photos to Panoramio and/or Flickr and tag their locations to correspond with your Google Places page.

Quantity (Quality) of NAP Citations

The amount of citations and the quality of these citations is still a huge ranking factor. Citations from other local authority sites have more weight than citations on irrelevant sites. NAP consistency is also a very important factor.

It is essential that the business name, address and phone number are identical in each citation and on the business website and Google Places page.

Number of reviews:

This has been a source of many debate but in my experience, having over 5 reviews has a positive effect on your Google Places ranking. It not only helps the ranking but obviously improves CTR if you can have positive reviews from past clients.

Proximity to city centre:

The distance your business address is to the city centre or the "centroid" is also a ranking factor. The closer the better. If your business is located far outside the city that you are trying to rank for, it might be a good idea to get a PO Box or other address somewhere near the city centre.

If you have a website which is linked to your Google Places page there are a few other factors which can help your ranking:

Business address crawlable on site:

The business address must be crawlable (i.e. in text or html format) in the footer of every page of your site. This helps Google identify your site's location.

Geositemap uploaded:

Upload a geositemap kml to your website's root folder and submit it to Google's webmaster tools. This also helps Google identify your location and helps link your website to your Google Places page.

Another popular method of building location trust with Google is marking up your site with microformats to inform Google of your business' physical location. Check out schema.org to learn more about this.

Organic ranking of site:

The natural or organic ranking of your website is another huge ranking factor if linked or merged properly with your Google Places page. If your site's main page ranks well, your associated Google Places page will rank well!

There are many other factors that Google takes into account but if you have most or all of these ticked off you're well on your way to dominating your local search results.

2 Easy Ways to Make $75,000 Online THIS Year (100% Online)

By Ian Ross Hollander

Expert Author Ian Ross Hollander

How would your life be different if you could earn what you are TRULY worth from working from home.....or from wherever in the world you wanted?

What if you could finally stop chasing the next, best, latest or greatest thing and could settle into a consistent, reliable and rewarding business you could grow around your own skills?

What if you could truly contribute to your local community, and create genuine value for people and professionals who truly appreciated your expertise?

The truth is... you CAN. (and the good news is, you can start whenever you are ready)

With that in mind, I want to share 2 very simple strategies you can use to grow your business to heights you probably DON'T believe are possible right now, using very simple marketing methods that work in just about every niche under the sun. Curious to know more? Continue reading as we take a closer look below:

I truly believe that this is the easiest way to create real value online and all you need to make it work is a good local domain name, a nice looking blog, a little bit of unique content and an interested audience. The truth is, you can PROACTIVELY build simple websites and blogs in your local community that have real perceived value and sell them, as is, to professional people who need a cost effective, turn key web solution. Believe it or not, $500-$997 is a VERY attractive price point for most existing businesses, and you can build the sort of site that will command that sort of entry level investment in under 72 hours. (I can do it in under a day)

Very simply, you take the idea above, and offer BACK end offers, incentives, s and additional services to add profit (and user value) to the sites you sell. For example? Content creation, SEO, blog building, newsletter creation, social media marketing, web hosting, coaching and consulting.....you NAME it, you can offer it. The truth is, you can quickly and easily turn a $497 web site sale into a $2000 transaction, simply by offering a $120 a month SEO offer. (which is SUPER inexpensive, and well below the going industry rate as well....and offer TREMENDOUS value to your clients and customers as a result)

When you combine a sale, with a simple service offer follow up, as outlined above.....getting to $75K (or a lot more) is not difficult to do, and only requires 5-7 new clients a month, even if you are selling low end sites and services.

The best part? This works amazingly well as a supplemental source of income for teachers, trainers, coaches and consultants as well!

How so?

Even if you don't want to necessarily be an online marketing "guru" (which the above process will certainly facilitate, especially in your local community) you can help OTHER people in your niche of choice build a profitable web business in their own area of expertise using the above approach. For example - if you are a yoga teacher, and teaching other students who also want to "teach", you can use the principles above to offer valuable MARKETING tips and techniques for folks who will need to sell themselves, once certified.

There are so many easy and ETHICAL ways to build a brand new business from scratch, make a genuine contribution, share your gifts and offer REAL value to the world around you at the very same time. (No gurus.....or gimmicks, required)

Online Investment Portfolio - Online Businesses That You Can Invest In

By Darren W Chow

Expert Author Darren W Chow

Investing money can be a scary time. It's hard enough with established companies like Home Depot, Amazon, and Walmart, which have all seen their share of struggles on the stock exchange. Why should you even consider taking a chance on other online businesses? While you may have some good reasons to be panicked about the investing landscape, you shouldn't let it stop you from exploring companies that are making wise use of the web and using it to grow their customer base and revenue. Online businesses make more sense as part of your investment portfolio in today's climate than the brick and mortar companies do. How so? Consider the following:

Online businesses have less overhead.

While brick and mortar stores are rushing around doing everything in their power to cut expenses in a vain attempt at keeping profitability alive, online businesses are able to show high profit margins without the fear of job loss and costly cuts. Without a massive physical facility, a huge part of the business expense is eliminated straightaway. And the best thing is, technology costs continue to fall with each passing year. As it gets cheaper to exist online, it will become cheaper to do business there as well.

Online businesses are progressive.

Those, who build their business model on an online platform, understand that technologies change at a rapid rate, and the good ones are able to adapt to these technologies while staying profitable or even increasing profitability. With brick and mortar facilities that are still firmly committed to their physical locations and ledger sheets full of employees, it's not possible to make the rapid changes that are often needed to stay profitable. By investing in online businesses, you can be at the forefront of these changes, and you can avoid the slowly sinking ship mentality that drives so many established brick and mortar businesses.

Online businesses market more effectively.

The online business owner understands that in order to wring out the most profits from the business, the best thing they can do is use the power of the web to seek and find new clients or customers. The cost of doing business online is much lower than it ever has been. While many other businesses are bloated with marketing employees and budgets that do little good to produce profits, more and more online businesses are making use of programming wizardry and social media to connect for pennies on the dollar compared to the "real world" competition.

As you seek out businesses to invest in for your portfolio, you must continue to realize that the World Wide Web is the future of almost every successful business. Put it to use for you and your portfolio today.

Establishing Credibility for the Best Websites

By Jennifer Couch

Expert Author Jennifer Couch

Credibility is an important element when you consider your online marketing efforts. When you think about credibility you generally think about someone you know and respect, someone you trust. When you meet someone new or are introduced to a new business it's frequently because someone you know, who has credibility with you, brings them to your attention.

With the referral of a friend, or a credible source, you give the new person or business has some instant credibility. When initially dealing with businesses your first interaction with them is typically one in which you observe how they deal with customers and how they sell their goods or services, if they do it in a way that resonates with you then you have a tendency to loan them some credibility.

Credibility is obviously an important element in business. When we first meet someone, or interact with a business, we form some judgment of credibility. When discussing websites we realize that on the internet you lose the advantage of a face to face encounter yet nevertheless credibility is still just as important.

This means that we need to consider how we can establish credibility on a website so that it can be successful. Let's look at some elements that the best websites use to establish credibility:

SEO to Be Found

To have any credibility potential customers have to be able to find your website. When an internet user performs a search looking for something that you have to offer, a product, a service, or information, you want your page to be at the top of the search results. Internet users typically look at only the first few results from their search, rarely do they ever go to page 2 and even rarer still is going to page 3 or beyond.

You want to position your page so that when a searcher types in words that are relevant to your site they find your site in one of the top spots of the first page of search results. You establish your site in these top results with a search engine optimization (SEO) strategy. When your page is found in the top spots of the search results it is similar to a referral. Being one of the top results in a search gives you a bit of credibility just by being found there.

Look and Usability of the Site

Once you've been found in the search results by a potential customer they will click on your website. The site needs to look professional and needs to load quickly. It needs to be pleasing to the eye and easy to navigate. If your site looks like it was designed in the garage of your cousin's house then the searcher will quickly leave the site, never to return again and your business will lose any credibility. You need to have a top notch web design that is easy to use.

Along with the look the site needs to be easy to navigate so the searcher can find the information or products they are looking for. The content needs to be well written and informative and useful. It needs to be easy to read and understand with no spelling and grammar mistakes. A professionally look and usability of a website offers even more credibility in the sight of the user.

Contact Information

If you are a reliable company then you want your customers to be able to easily get in touch with you when they need to. Your contact information should be easy to find on the website and all possible information should be given. Your mailing addresses, the address of the brick and mortar site, the phone number, fax number, and email should all be included on a contact page. When a potential customer sees that they can easily get in touch with you if there's a problem it makes you seem reliable and gives you credibility.

Social Interactions

As a user browses your site you will gain further credibility when they see product reviews, testimonials, site visitor comments, when they see social interactions on your site. When they can see that you have gained acceptance and appreciation from others you gain further credibility.

When you look at the best websites online they haven't gained credibility and become successful with just one element, and it didn't happen overnight. It's a number of elements all working together over a period of time that make the best websites successful. Credibility is just one of those key elements.

What are some of your tips to establishing credibility with your website?

10 Secrets to Dominating Fiverr

By Kevin P Webster

Expert Author Kevin P Webster

There's no shortcut to getting featured on Fiverr. No amount of cash will squeeze you onto the first page in your chosen category. You have to put in the work. This is about 'the work'

1. Make your title easy to understand and use keywords that describe your gig.

2. Using caps on one keyword in the heading will help it rank in searches (they won't let you use caps on more than one word).

3. Produce a professional looking video to promote your gig. The great thing about Fiverr is that you have a huge range of professionals offering every marketing and promotional service under the sun, all for $5. Put some thought into your presentation and spend a little money. It will pay off. (I recently commissioned a voice over for my poetry gig, it made a huge difference to the quality and presentation)

4. Always deliver your gig on time. If you don't you'll get bad feedback and loose custom. Fiverr wants gigsters who earn lots of money (so the Fiverr bosses can get their $1 commission) Be cautious at first, imagine if you have 10 orders coming in per day, how long would you need to complete them? You can always reduce the time once you find your feet.

5. Offer something original. Spend time looking through the different categories and exploring the wild and wonderful gigs there. You're bound to get some inspiration. Oh! And try to do what you love, it will show in your dedication and quality of service.

6. Make your profile and gig pictures unique and original. A personal touch helps build confidence and trust. A picture of you on your profile and a picture/graphic on each of your gigs that communicates well, works best.

7. Be willing to offer a 'buy one get one free' deal to get plenty of sales quickly and boost your feedback. People who get a great deal are more likely to give glowing feedback. Fiverr likes that kind of relationship and rewards it too.

8. Mention that your gig is exclusively on Fiverr, at least twice during your videos or audios. Also include the Fiverr logo on any videos and make sure you load your videos onto YouTube for extra exposure. Putting a link in your YouTube description that points back to your gig URL at Fiverr is a great marketing strategy too.

9. Write an article about your experience on fiver and submit it to EzineArticles and other leading article submission sites. These are free services and important weapons in your battle to get onto page 1. Remember to include your gig URL in the bio or resource box too.

10. Promote, promote, promote whenever and wherever you can. Use your social networks. Join forums that tie in with your gigs and mention them there. Add a signature to your emails and include your gig URL. There are hundreds of opportunities on the internet, to get free advertising. Use as many as you can and watch your ranking improve and your orders increase.

I trust that the tips here have been helpful and that you understand a little more about the world of Fiverr now. Check out my Fiverr gigs here.

To your success

Why Small Businesses Need Mobile Websites

By Stephen F Berman

If you are still on the fence about getting mobile websites then consider this:

How Much Business Are You Losing?

Face it... Who today does not have a smart phone!

Your customers are using their smart phones to shop and surf the web, find what they want and are spending $$$Billions annually from mobile devices. Because your potential customers can't find the information they are looking for, they are leaving your website in droves, unimpressed with the poor user experience!

* Currently 50% of all local searches (people searching the internet for local products and services) are performed on smart phones such as iPhone, BlackBerry, Android OS, Windows Mobile, Symbian OS and that figure is rising dramatically.

* Morgan Stanley estimates the number of smart phones in the world will surpass desktop computers sometime in 2013. Regular websites are not user-friendly AT ALL when viewed on a mobile smart phone. They don't fit on the small screen and look awful. They are hard to read and navigate, extremely slow to load and will lose your potential customers who give up in frustration and go to your competitors.

A mobile website is your business's solution and they can be optimized in no time, so you can put an end to those lost sales What you need to bear in mind is your mobile audience and what they are searching for from your business.

The objective of a mobile website is not to offer everything that your standard website has to offer, only the core information regarding your enterprise is pretty much what the majority of mobile phone consumers need to find on your mobile sites.

Display only the core information a user needs to find. For example: area of expertise, hours of operation, click to call, contact info, map and directions, to name just a few. Some companies go farther and supply discount coupons, exhibit specials, QR codes and give price reduction pages on their mobile websites.

I never really considered what mobile websites could do for our business until I started out with a new revenue stream and after doing some research I realised that mobile websites are essential to the organic Google rankings of our main site as well. We are targeting very specific keywords and much of our new client base is coming from the mobile sites.

The click-to-call button is definitely working because the phone is ringing off the hook! Our mobile sites are actually receiving more visits than our main sites!

The first feature is an Analysis Tool which can be used to help create reports and view all the data which Google Analytics collects. It has real-time reporting which measures the activity on a restaurant's website as it happens. Restaurants can create custom reports with only the information that is important to them. Google Analytics also lets a restaurant segment their customers and find out why they make the choices they do online. There is a dashboard which makes seeing all this information easier and the data that is gathered can be shared with everyone involved. The Analysis Tool also shows the path that customers take while on a restaurants website so restaurants can see how they interact with their pages.

Google's Content Analytics measures the content that is placed on a restaurant's website and how effect it is. Site Search shows a restaurant what their customers are looking for and can help them speed up their search rate. The In-Page Analytics shows a restaurant how their customers move while on their website and Site Speed Analysis shows if they are having any trouble loading the pages. Restaurants can also check how many times customers are clicking on their links and downloads.

Mobile is becoming ever important and Google has adapted and added Mobile Analytics. This measures how mobile is affecting a business. Restaurants can see which devices and operating systems people are using to access their website. They can also track where the mobile traffic is coming from. Mobile Analytics will measure the performance of a mobile app and see if it is successful or if changes need to be made.

Conversion Suite is designed to go beyond the data and tell a restaurant why their customers behave the way they do. It tells how customer behavior leads to sales and what they are most likely to do while visiting a restaurant's website. It has Ecommerce reporting which will identify the best-selling products and promotions. This feature will also help restaurants follow the channels that direct their customers to their site. Attribution Modeling helps restaurants decided which marketing channels are working for them and eliminate the ones that are not successful.

Social media is all that everyone is talking about right now. Google Analytics has social reports which tell a restaurant which of their social media is making the biggest impact on their customer base. Restaurants can see which social media sites their customers engage most in and see what their customers are sharing and where.

The last feature that is available is Advertising Analytics. This measures how well a restaurant's advertisements are working for them online. It gives tips on how to increase search engine marketing and help restaurants understand how display advertising helps them. It goes in depth with how mobile advertising is different from online and how to effectively advertise online. Advertising Analytics also does a campaign measurement which shows a restaurant what they need to do more of and what they need to rethink.

Google Analytics is a very informational and effective means of collecting data about a restaurant's website. It has invaluable features which can give restaurants an edge against the competition. By using this creation from Google, a restaurant can gauge the effectiveness of its online presence which will in turn help increase its customers.

Advice in Developing Internet Marketing Strategies

By Angela M Suarez

If you are a new entrepreneur or business owner, it seems hard to establish yourself and to make your brand known to the public. You need the right web marketing strategies to make your business popular on the internet. This can be hard for beginners who do not have adequate knowledge about customers and their behavior. One thing is sure. Without appropriate marketing strategies, any business is bound to fail.

One of the reasons businesses fail is lack of understanding. Many entrepreneurs do not seem to understand their business much. They also do not invest in consumer and market research. The first thing you need to know is who you are. What is your business about? What do you offer? You need to be able to create an identity before you can even launch yourself online. Now, who do you think are your audience? There is a certain group of people who will most probably buy from you. It is vital that you identify them. Internet marketing is virtually impossible without knowing much about your business and about your audience.

Another important thing is knowing who your competitors are. If you are a beginner, you face a tough competition against businesses who have already established themselves. Enticing consumers who buy from them is a tough challenge. Find out what your competitors are doing online. Where are their websites positioned on Google search results? Check out their blog sites and their accounts on social media platforms.

There are different internet marketing strategies, and each has its own strengths and weaknesses. The popular strategies are SEO, PPC, affiliate marketing, social media marketing, and email marketing. Companies do not just employ one kind of marketing technique. Instead, they use eclectic approach for greater chances of success. This means that internet marketing is actually a tough job. No one said it was a breeze. There is much work to be done. Once you have started, you cannot stop!

Developing a mix of strategies is troublesome. It requires the discernment of an expert-a marketing specialist. Unless you are too confident that what you have in mind will work, you need to see an internet marketing specialist. Seasoned online marketing specialists have spent years working for companies and businesses to promote them on the internet and to drive customers to them. These people know what can work.

Either you get advice from a specialist or you hire a professional internet marketer. Many small business owners hire an online marketing staff, and now there is an inclination towards remote or offshore marketing specialists. Regardless of who carries out your internet marketing strategies, you should monitor their work and progress. Your responsibility is to see whether your marketing campaigns are working. Has your website gained traffic? Is there an increase in your sales?

Personal assistants can certainly help you effectively juggle work, family and hobbies. If you have menial tasks that eat up a lot of your time and energy, then look for the right online assistant company that provides the most affordable rate and the best quality work.

Talk to Google to Get Better Search Results

By Graham Jones

Expert Author Graham Jones

We all do it - we talk to ourselves. When someone catches us talking to no-one but ourself, we apologise and say something like "I must be going crazy". But far from it. Talking to yourself actually improves cognitive performance.

If you're not sure about that, ask a primary school teacher. They will know children who are given a task and talk themselves through it. "Now I'm going to get the blue paint," they will say. "That's good," they add, "Now I want something bright." Meanwhile, some children in a junior school will just do their work in silence. Ask the school teacher if they know which ones perform better in tests and appear to "get" things more quickly. Yes, they'll tell you it is the children who talk themselves through things, rather than the silent ones. Primary school teachers often do not realise they are encouraging the silent ones to become self-talkers. They sit with them and ask questions like "What are you doing now?" so the child can vocalise their activities. Teachers encourage youngsters to be self-talkers because it is clear it helps learning.

As we grow up, social pressures suggest that we shouldn't talk to ourselves as it is a "sign of madness". It isn't, of course, but we see it as such child-like behaviour that we think it would be "madness" for an adult to do it. Hence there is strong pressure for us not to talk to ourselves. Yet we all lapse into it from time to time - largely because it helps.

Now, new research shows that talking to yourself improves performance. Researchers in the USA tested the ability of people to find objects in pictures when they were asked to either be silent or to talk to themselves about the object. When people talked, they were able to find the objects more quickly. In addition, they were more accurate. It appears that the self-directed speech enables the better formation of visual images and thereby the more rapid and accurate location of objects.

So, as you sit in front of Google (or your favourite search engine) today simply say out loud what your are really looking for. The chances are the links you really want will then jump out of the page at you, saving you time by not clicking on search results which prove fruitless.

Talking to yourself while you search online could actually save you hours each week by increasing the speed and accuracy of your results. Of course, you will have to put up with your colleagues thinking you have gone crazy.!

How to Affiliate Marketing Tips

By Aggrey Marami

Expert Author Aggrey Marami

If you are in marketing, chances are high that you have at least once thought about affiliate marketing. You have probably wondered how to go about it. Well, you cannot know how to go about it if you have no idea what it is. Affiliate marketing is actually marketing a service or a product for someone else. However, you only get paid if visitors complete some sort of action for example filling out a form. The key here is to heavily involve your readers. Finally, with this in mind, let us see how you can go about affiliate marketing.

Have knowledge of your readers

You seriously have to satisfy your readers if you want to be a successful affiliate marketer. Before you actually put content in your site, you should ask yourself what you are providing for your readers. Ensure that whatever service or product that you are marketing provides a solution to your audience. In case you are writing about sports, do not put unnecessary affiliate ads like printer toner ads. People who want to read about sports do not really care about such things. Perhaps you can put up sneaker ads. The more relevant the affiliate ads are to your readers, the higher the chance they will use them.

Trust is the key

You should not assume that you are smarter than your readers. Readers are quite smart. It is very likely that they will notice an affiliate link when they see one. For this reason, if you promote an ad that you do not believe in, you are breaking their trust. Furthermore, if you happen to take undue advantage of their loyalty, they are likely to stop reading your blogs and posts. You should know that your repeat visitors are the ones who drive traffic to your site. They go around spreading the word. Therefore, build a relationship with genuine content.

Be Informative

Do not think of affiliate ads as a mere source of money. Think of them as complements to your content. Write a detailed review of whatever you are marketing and use the affiliate ads to point your readers to the right direction. As a matter of fact, this is the reason affiliate ads exist. Never just provide links hoping that visitors will click on them. The readers will click on something alright...they will click their way out.

Transparency

Always ensure that your affiliations are known. This way, your audience will appreciate your honesty and they will even be motivated to help you earn. Sometimes readers can be cruel. If they sense just a bit of dishonesty, they will not click on your link but they would rather go directly to the seller so that you do not get any referral credit. Honesty builds a very loyal reader base.

Be meticulous

Never just settle for the first product or service there is to write on. Take all the time you can so that you can read through all the options. Think about which products your readers will most likely click on. Apart from that, do not just stick to one particular type of service or product. Change the ads around as often as you can and also use different copies and graphics to know the ones that are most effective. It may take quite a long time for you to find out the best formula but once you do, you will be on your home.

Can Your Business Afford Not To Have An Effective Online Presence Anymore?

By Zed H Chamaa

What not to do with your (new) website!

The website for businesses has become an essential. The website is the 'showroom', where people go to find out about your business and your products or services.

Visitors go to the website for a reason - they are focused in what they want and are looking for, but their attention span is limited. This is what companies, most especially start up companies, need to focus on. Quite simply, know your target audience.

It is essential that firstly you are aware what it is that a client or prospective client would be looking for when going to your site. In this way, you can offer them the service or information quickly and at ease. If you do not spend time understanding your client, the chances are that you will lose customers both new and existing and your business will suffer in return.

Many start up companies are in a rush to design their site, focusing on the fun part, and lose sight of what keeps a company going - the client. Research and question and only then, design with the answers front of mind.

Make the website a simple one to understand. Websites that are too convoluted with pretty or impressive designs, may be just that; pretty, impressive, wow factor. However, if the content is not accessible and there is no call to action, then all the flashiness goes to waste - it is money spent, as well as money lost.

A grave mistake that many make is paying perhaps too little for a cheap website to be the result. The 'judging a book by its cover' adage comes to mind here, as people will do just that. If your website is cheap people will think that the company is not serious about their product, or that the product or service is inferior. This is not to say you have to go and pay an exorbitant amount of money for a web designer, but it is worth the while to look around, see the portfolio of work that has been created, the clients that they work with and the overall results and package. You may begin by choosing the cheapest quote, however the long term will mean less money generated, more money spent.

Essential advice for any company starting up a website, is to keep the content fresh! Content that is stale is bad for the website for many reasons. Walking into a shop and seeing the same product every single time, means that eventually, at some point you will stop going to the shop. Why? Because there is nothing there that you have not seen. Apply this to your website - when the website stops being updated, the client new or existing, will stop clicking on to your site. There is nothing there for them to see! Adding to this, the general thought in instances where the site is not updated is 'are they in trouble?'.

Lastly, people love the internet as it is convenient, saves time and easy. So do not have a website that is difficult and laborious to use. Many sites love forms and registration processes that go on and on for pages - if you can, steer clear of this!

Don't Plan to Fail by Failing to Plan

By Carl Graham

Expert Author Carl Graham

So you've decided to start an online business! Maybe you've been thinking about it for sometime or you've just made up your mind to do it. Either way the question that comes to mind is what do I do now? Yes, what is your next step?

You need a plan of action and you can develop one by asking yourself some questions and answering them honestly. The answers will help you to set specific and measurable goals to help you reach your objective of a successful online business.

What type of questions? Here's a list to pick from.

What do I hope to accomplish with my business? How much income do I wish to earn? Show a real money amount What type of products or services do I wish to sell? From where will I source my inventory? What selling platforms will I use? How will I run my business? What business model will I use?

Remember you have a limited amount of time and money so by answering these questions right off the bat you'll save yourself both. Now with the information you've gathered from answering the questions above make an outline for yourself. This will be your game plan that you'll use.

Lets take one of the answers to one of the questions above to see how it works. Question two asked how much money do you want to make? Let's say you'd like to net an extra $18,000 a year. I said net so this will be the amount you put in your pocket after cost and other expenses. Just to keep it simple we'll only deal with the net amount. $18,000 comes out to $1,500 a month and that comes out to $50 a day. So your goal would be to make $50 a day after cost and other expenses. So now you have a specific and measurable goal to work towards

Your online business can be the means to supplement your working or retirement income. It can help pay off those student loans or be the source of money for your children's college fund. It can be the reason why you're taking that vacation you've always planned but never had the money for.

Yes, a successful online business can change your life for the better. Take the time to plan out your business. Remember .

Until next time, happy selling.

Facebook Timeline Updates for Brand Pages

By Collin Holmes

On March 30th, Facebook rolled out the timeline update for all brand pages. This update has some great new features that should help companies organize their image and help engage their audience. Here are the new features briefly explained.

The first feature, Star and Pin features are for posts on the timeline. These features allow a company to tell its story and to highlight mile stones or special events that the business is proud of. The Star feature allows you to enlarge a post/picture/video to take up the width of the screen in timeline, so it is more noticeable. The Pin feature allows you to pin a post/picture/video at the top of your timeline for exactly 7days.

This next feature is an effort to help organize the many apps and games that can be utilized on Facebook. There is a section right underneath the cover photo where a list of Facebook apps that the brand uses will be shown. These apps can then be placed in a specific order based on what is important to the brand. The screen shot shows that chatmeter uses the photo, like, and blog apps.

Fans/Users can now send businesses messages directly to their Facebook brand pages and the business can respond to that message directly. This is a great feature for companies to get feedback from its customers. This could be good news for the people who monitor reviews and social media for companies. If customers start messaging companies directly about product complaints, those complaints will not be posted in a public space. This feature could be very powerful for businesses that manage their online reputation by responding to guest messages. On the other hand if a company does not respond to messages it could damage their online reputation.

The best feature from a social media monitoring perspective is the new admin panel. This allows you to track and view all of the activity on a page, every thing from new likes, messages, posts, to who is responding to posts. This gives a snap shot of the recent activity for the page and lets the user respond and update content from this panel.

The last feature Facebook is the cover photo feature, when timeline went live for personal accounts they rolled out this feature. Now the cover photo option is available for brand pages. With this added release came some rules from Facebook that apply to businesses that use this feature.

You can not have:

Price or purchase information, such as "40% off" or "Download it at our website"

Contact information, such as web address, email, mailing address or other information intended for your Page's About section

References to user interface elements, such as Like or Share, or any other Facebook site features

Calls to action, such as "Get it now" or "Tell your friends"

These rules are put in place to keep branding pages "human." This should give a sense of connection between the companies and their current and potential fans.

Facebook is going to continue to change and innovate, their user interface to keep it fresh and dynamic and keep consumers coming back to the platform. These new features allow businesses to communicate what is new and important in a more bold and effective way with their audience. In addition, as email usage continues to decline, the new messaging feature enables Facebook fans to communicate with the business without sharing their message across the web. Business should embrace these new features and integrate them into their online strategy for effective customer communications.

The challenge continues to monitor all these different social and directory sites across the web as the fragmentation of local search continues. If you are looking for a solution to help monitor and react to content via daily updates and alerts, please check out chatmeter to help you manage and improve your brand visibility and reputation for each individual location.

The Builders Blueprint: How To Quickly Flip Websites for Fun and Profit

By Ian Ross Hollander

Expert Author Ian Ross Hollander

Who else is looking for the absolute easiest way to earn a full time living online? If you have been chasing one "magic bullet" after the next, the truth is... you are probably JUST about ready to give up, right? It amazes me how many people struggle to build a profitable online business, when the real steps for earning BIG money are actually quite simple.

The secret?

I've said it many times before... and I'll say it again here: You have to think of a way to create genuine value, and to find an eager audience who identifies that doing business with you will improve their lives in an easy to understand way.

To be honest....the traditional approach of selling eBooks, or membership sites or even coaching and consulting can make that a very tough sell. Most clients, customers and CONSUMERS in general are conditioned that value has to be visualized in order to be compelling.

And while you CAN earn a killer income selling "products", there is no better way to demonstrate value than a turnkey website, blog or online community that you offer for sale.

Building a profitable online business predicated on "flipping" websites is very, very simple and exceptionally straightforward.

At a minimum, it only requires that you:

Get hosting
Register a high value domain name
Create content
Find an audience who NEEDS what you are selling

Is that a little bit of an oversimplification?

Quite honestly, not really! While adding bells and whistles and adding value to a domain is advisable, you CAN create a very profitable business selling low end blogs and websites in the $197-$397 range, without doing anything OTHER than the above.

As a matter of fact, I was speaking to a domain reselling specialist the other day at one of the major domain registrars who gave me a LONG list of premium domain names that sold for big bucks, (4 figures and up) just in the last few months, without any content at all.

In the scenario above, you are improving the domains with content, and in the right markets, that has tremendous value to professional people who crave an online presence, but don't have the time or expertise to build their own.

BIG Tip?

Adding premium templates, responsive layouts, and even free functionality like social networking can exponentially increase the perceived value of every property you develop. Tools like BuddyPress for example, are 100% free, but to a customer or client, can appear to represent a huge competitive advantage in their niche and are really appealing.

Of course for YOU, as the virtual real estate developer....adding and configuring this sort of functionality takes about 60 minutes, and once you know what you're doing......that's on the HIGH side.

In truth, "flipping" is really not the best word to describe the above, simply because most people think of flipping as buying an underutilized asset, improving it, and then selling it for a profit.

I prefer to create NEW assets from scratch, and target a hungry, ambitious and easy to identify audience who I know in advance needs what I'm selling.

Lastly...

There are so many back end services you can offer once you've sold a site, that it would take me 10 more articles to really due justice. Everything from SEO, to content creation, to blog building, to social media marketing, to business and entrepreneurial coaching... you name it, you can offer it! And the obvious advantage is, once you sell something to someone who appreciates and understand the value you create, creating long term relationships with these people that are mutually beneficial is easy, effortless and a whole lot of fun (no guru's and no gimmicks required).

Want the SECRET to earning 4 figures in ONE Day WITHOUT Tricks, Gimmicks or Guru's? Click HERE and I'll give it to you 100% Free!

Talk Fusion Review

Video Killed the Radio Star

Back in 1979, The Buggles sang that 'Video Killed the Radio Star'. And they were right. More TV channels followed and then before long, we all had cable TV with hundreds of channels. Probably too much choice and definitely quality over quantity.

Video is still going strong and in the Cyber age, any network marketer worth their salt incorporates video into their marketing strategy. But what if video itself was the main product?

Products

'Talk Fusion' offers video email, video conferencing, live broadcasting, video social networking, and video auto responders

Go to their homepage, and it looks very flash and well put together but it is actually quite hard to get concrete information on their products. I have heard form some who have used their video products that the clarity is top-notch though the size is pretty small.

One advantage is the opportunity to incorporate things such as video auto-responders into your marketing strategy.

Does Talk Fusion have a long-term future?

Well, the true answer of course is who knows. No one has a crystal ball but I will say one thing, and this is just my opinion. Technology products in general are a bit risky to get involved in.

In order to keep up with the Joneses, companies must invest vast sums of money into R&D. what will they do if a better version of what they offer comes on to the market? That being said, it has been enjoying some recent growth and it looks rosy in the short term.

The Compensation Plan

The compensation plan used is your classic binary. They have some nice little bonuses thrown in for good measure. Personally, I am not a big fan of binaries. As you know, you only get paid on the weaker leg sign up a new member and you have a dilemma.

Put them on your strong leg and this does help your business too much, but it helps them as they may gain spillover.

Put them on your weaker leg helps you, but it does the new sign-up no favors as there will be less chance of spillover. It is your weaker leg after all.

That being said, many folk and may MLM companies have made some great incomes in binaries and if it works well for you and you go about your marketing in the right way, then all's good.

Oh, and it pays every day! Small commissions paid regularly may motivate newbies who see that they can actually make some cash.

Training

If you are a technophobe then a company that sells technology products may not be for you. Conversely, someone who is great with technology could use Talk Fusion's products to market and brand themselves very effectively.

If you are looking to join Talk Fusion or indeed any MLM it is vital that you have a funded proposal with a low end high converting offer such as Empower Network.

I hope you found this helpful. Please leave a comment in the box below.

Thank you for reading

Successful Webinars Made Easy

Webinars are a great way to attract your target market and convert them into customers. That's because unlike teleseminars, you are adding a much needed visual component. And studies are showing that the added element of visuals engages prospects more than teleseminars (where listeners are more likely multitasking).

However, running a successful webinar involves both meticulous preparation and top-notch presentation skills. If done well, it can help you increase your credibility with your audience, deliver valuable content and increase your sales.

So if you are ready to make the switch to webinars, here are some of the essential things you will need:
A good microphone is key. The most important component to a webinar that appears professional is having a good microphone. Without a good mic, your guests will likely be instantly turned off by the lack of audio clarity. When you have a good mic they might not necessarily notice; but if you have a poor one, that'll instantly kill the webinar.
Create visuals that attract. Obviously, like teleseminars, you should have a clear plan of what you want to cover well before actually doing the webinar. Then you need to decide if you will be presenting live via a webcam or create a slideshow of visuals. If you choose the webcam approach, look the part of the expert by making sure you look professional and that your webcam and lighting are the best possible. If you go the slideshow route, keep the visuals to the important points that you want people to remember.
Make sure all your resources are ready. There's nothing more unprofessional and distracting than to load web pages or open programs and documents in the middle of your presentation. Instead, try to pre-load everything beforehand. Open all the web pages you plan on using, load all the programs and open all the documents. That way you can go through your entire presentation is streamlined.
Practice makes (it almost) perfect. The key to looking like a professional is to rehearse your entire presentation. Even the most skilled presenters have a dry run to make sure everything works as smoothly as it can. It also helps for timing purposes.
Don't worry about making a mistake. Once you are live, understand that things happen that are out of your control. You can also make a mistake and that's okay too. The key is not to let these things fluster you and to move on.

What would be some great businesses to start in a recession? That seems to be the question on the minds of many individuals who have fallen victim to our current financial situation. Company downsizing, the loss of wages due to pay cuts, and the lack of good employment opportunities has left many individuals struggling to survive and looking online for an alternate source of income.

Searching for great businesses to start in a recession is definitely not an easy task and can quickly turn into a costly mistake without doing your due diligence and thoroughly researching the industry before making any big financial decisions. Online Selling

Selling products online is certainly a great place to start building a business. You can easily get started by listing some products on ebay, Amazon, or Craig's list. You could then move up to creating an online store with these sites as your reputation grows. This could then lead to creating your own website and selling your products to the masses online. Online Writing

Online writing is another example of great online home businesses to start in a recession. Writing content for websites in the form of articles and placing them on ezines can be a great source of income and can all be accomplished from your home and in your spare time. Now if you really like to write, you might consider creating a blog that is focused around a particular niche. You could then find and sell products relating to that niche and get paid as an affiliate.

Online Consulting

Here is another one of the great recession-proof businesses that you can start from home. This involves becoming recognized as an expert in a particular field and then providing your services to other businesses or individuals who are willing to pay you for your expertise. Information Marketing Products - The Simple 3 Step Formula

By Fernando Morales

Expert Author Fernando Morales

Selling information products online can be a very rewarding way to develop a prosperous business on the internet. Those new to internet marketing are often given the suggestion to start out with affiliate marketing due to the fact that utilizing this method of generating income online can help you to learn how to drive traffic to your website. Although the affiliate marketing business model is good way to make money as you learn how to generate traffic to your website there is a downside that needs to be seriously considered...

The downside of affiliate marketing has to do with the fact that a large portion of the traffic that you send to your affiliate link will not convert initially. As an affiliate marketer, all of your marketing efforts only serve to improve the brand awareness of the product owner. There is a better way... create your own information products and build your own brand.

Below are three elements you need to sell your own information products online.

Step #1 Create a Salesletter Step #2 Get Traffic Step #3 Follow up

Create the Salesletter

There are two ways you can go about writing the salescopy for your product.

1. write the sales copy before you put your product together

2. write the sales letter for your info product after you have completed it.

After you have created your sales letter and setup your website to make sales of your new product, now you can concentrate on directing traffic to your website.

Get Traffic To Your Website

As important as generating visitors to your website is, it consists of more than just getting a lot of visitors. If the people who come to your website are not interested in your offer, you will not make sales. Even if your website statistics report that huge amounts of visitors are checking out your website, statistics don't buy products, people do. A crucial element of the sales process involves following up with the traffic that comes to your site but does not purchase your product on the first visit.

The Fortune Is In The Follow Up!

Capturing the name and email addresses of your visitors gives you the opportunity to make contact beyond their initial visit to your website and allows you to make the best use of what would've otherwise been lost traffic. A simple way to get people to give you their name and email address is to offer something of value for free in return. Additionally you can induce your visitors into giving you their name and email address by offering a portion of your product for free as a sample of the solution you have to offer. By giving away a free sample of your product you are helping to whet your visitors desire which will help you with... your email follow up series.

To get this done, an autoresponder will need to be set up and filled with pre-written emails that keep persuading, educating and redirecting your visitors back to your product sales letter. Selling information products online is a relatively simple process that doesn't have to get any more complex than what I've just shared with you. A time saving way to get your internet business generating revenue faster is to consider outsourcing the parts of the sales and setup process that you may not be proficient with yourself.

By Rizvana Abdul

Expert Author Rizvana Abdul

Do you spend a great deal of time on your android phones just because of the many apps that you can use on them? You will find a great deal of interesting apps in the respective store but you'll realize that some of them cannot be used while travelling to certain countries that can let you down wholly. The inability to access certain apps can be quite a problem especially if you need them for entertainment or information on a regular basis. The best way to ensure uninterrupted access to your favorite apps is to configure a VPN server on your android phones. VPN stands for Virtual Private Network and it brings out the functionality of a computer or smart phone.

You will realize that there are quite a few options for a VPN server since there is great demand for them. Apart from permitting you to access these apps as well as servers behind a company firewall, you can also stay invisible on the internet in case you have the need to do so. As a matter of fact, people who do a lot of telecommuting also need to use these servers because they give them complete access to various sites.

It is really very easy to configure a VPN server on your android phones or tablets. You'll need to select an appropriate one to start with. You'll find quite a few free VPNs in addition to ones that you have to pay for. It goes without saying that some of them are better than the others. Cost is a very important consideration but never if it comes at the expense of quality and reliability. You need to be absolutely certain that you will be able to access your favorite apps whenever you want to. Select the ideal company that offers commercial grade dedicated server hosting because this will ensure that you do not have problems because the server is too busy.

A VPN server is generally very easy to use and you will be able to turn it off and on whenever you need to use it. You will then be able to access a variety of VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) applications as well as ones that are restricted to certain geographical locations. If you travel a lot then you will certainly need the use of one in order to use all the features of your android phones and tablets.

Use a VPN server to access certain sites from your iPhone or iPad that you are otherwise not able to visit. Choose the right server that gives you uninterrupted access at the right price.

Quitting Your Job To Become An Online Entrepreneur - Is It Time For You To Get Started Online?

By Connie Ragen Green

Expert Author Connie Ragen Green

Having a job when you're trying to start your own business can be both positive and negative. I still have mixed feelings about this. Working for someone else can be crucial to your success in the long run. In fact, I believe that everyone should work as an employee for at least a year in their young adult life in order to appreciate what that means and requires. Then you can go on to work in a family business or start your own as an entrepreneur.

The problem that arises is that many people become comfortable in their job over time. This can mean that you no longer have the ambition and the drive to do what it will take to start your own business. This happened to me for many years when I worked as a classroom teacher. I loved working with the children and knew that I would receive a paycheck for the same amount once a month. This made me complacent when it came to taking the time necessary to doing something on my own. It wasn't until the situation at work became unbearable that I was again ready to go after my own dream of working from home on my computer.

Look closely at your present situation. With the economy in full recovery at this point it may be tempting for you to stay at your job and make the best of it. Think about the way that you are justifying and rationalizing this action. When I finally did this it was amazing to me the story I had created about why I had to stay working as an employee instead of leaving that false sense of security behind to fulfill my own hopes and dreams.

A job is never a certainty. So many events can occur that will be beyond your control over time. We have all heard the stories of people who worked for twenty years or more at a company and were then let go, long before they could receive the financial incentives and benefits they had counted on for their entire adult lives. You deserve more than to be in this position after giving any company the best years of your life.

Start a small business online just to get started. Once you see that you can earn even a small amount of money as an online entrepreneur you will be convinced that you have more control over your own life that you ever thought possible.

Remember that the reason to start an Internet business is to give you the time and financial freedom to live the life you choose. The 4 Reasons Agency Recruiters Are Worth Your Time

By Matt L Sims

Using agency recruiters is always a big topic of conversation among hospitals and practices. The choices? Use them or don't. Regrettably, many employers have chosen not to use agency recruiters for all the wrong reasons. The number one complaint is always the "high" fee, with others being lack of communication, or a "they never work out" attitude. These complaints are rooted in a lot of false ideology, here say, and rumor. Here are the reasons why using agency recruiters are a great idea:

1.) The "High" Fees Aren't High At All. Most agency recruiting firms in the medical industry charge flat fees, whereas recruiters in other industries, such as law and business, usually charge a percentage of the recruited employee's annual income (sometimes up to 30%). In most cases, the flat fees are exceedingly lower than the percentage-of-income fee charged by other industries.

2.) You Are Losing Money Without A Physician. In many cases, especially those in which there are openings for specialties such as cardiology or surgery, employers could be potentially losing thousands of dollars each day a physician is not there. The fee a recruiting agency charges could essentially be paid back within less than a month of the physician starting work. In the long run, employers actually make much, much more than they actually paid.

3.) Casting a wide net. Agency recruiters use every available resource on the Internet and otherwise to advertise your job. The more recruiters you have working for you, the more places your opportunity will be showcased to doctors. High exposure is key in filling the a position quickly.

4.) You Have Nothing To Lose. When dealing with a contingency firm, the fee is only applied if the firm places a physician with the employer. Until then, there is no charge. Even with dedicated searches, where clients offer a portion of the fee up front, the money is put into marketing for the available position so recruiters have the ability to display the job in more places than ever. This also adds superior motivation for the recruiter to complete the placement as the recruiter may lose commissions if the final placement is not made.

So there you have it. Although often given a bad reputation, by and large, agency recruiters offer a huge value to employers. Recruiters offer more exposure than ever for lower fees than any other high level contingency or retained searches while not costing you money unless they deliver. The biggest loss you'll take is the few minutes it took you to sign the contract. I'd say that's worth the risk.

There are three simple ways that you can go about selling information marketing products online if what I'm discussing here sounds like something that you may be interested in pursuing.

Ebooks - Ebooks are simply electronic books that an individual can easily download to their computer and get immediate accessibility to the information they want.

Two areas that should not be ignored are:

How To Choose A Niche For Your Online Business

By Des Ingham

Expert Author Des Ingham

Choosing a niche for your online business is a very important part of the process when starting out, so here are a few tips that I believe you should take onboard.

The first thing you must be sure of when you pick a subject to develop a business around is that there is demand in that particular niche. There is absolutely no point in picking a niche in a subject where people have very little interest in. Conversely, you do not want to pick a niche that is too broad a category with huge demand in, as you will most likely find that the competition in this niche is incredibly high and you will have very little prospect of success.

You can use the keyword tool at Google to check whether a certain niche gets a lot of searches for ie each month or not, and it will also tell you if there is low or high competition for certain keywords or key phrases in the niche. It is very important to check this out before you go ahead.

You also need to pick a subject or niche that you already have an interest in, and even better if you already have some knowledge of the particular subject. If you pick something that you really have no interest in, then it will be very hard to motivate yourself to do the required work on the subject, and also your lack of interest will show through in the quality of your work. So I would suggest you write down a few subjects that you really enjoy reading about or getting involved in, and go through them one by one to find the niche that could be the most profitable one for you.

Another important factor to bear in mind, is that you have to think about whether your niche is one where people are willing to spend money in. Certain subjects you will find that there is just very little money actually spent by the public at large, but if you pick subjects such as golf or self improvement or weight loss for instance, you will find that there is a huge amount of money spent. People spend money on solving a problem, so if you can solve a problem for someone in your particular niche you have a good chance of success with your online business.

When you find a niche that interests you can dig down in the niche to find various sub niches that attract lots of hungry followers. This is a great way of finding a profitable niche. So for instance, if you were looking at golf, you may decide to concentrate on the mental approach to golf, and how you can become a better golfer by improving your mind set.

I hope this article had proven useful to you. Take some time choosing your subject matter, for if you are going to create a successful online business you need to be sure that you are in the right niche for you.
